“You keep changing your mind on things because whatever you get or have is never satisfying. The only thing that will make you satisfied is when you calm your mind and let go of your attachment and your desire."

Question:  “After attaining enlightenment, is there a guarantee that one will never fall into defilement again?”

Than Ajahn:  “Yes, because you know – you know what defilements are. 

Before enlightenment you don’t know what defilements are. You think the defilements are not the defilements, so you keep going back to the defilements. But once you’re enlightened, you know what the defilements are and you never go back to them anymore.”
