Dhamma Teaching of Luang Pu Budda
Have you ever watched flowers fall?
Some flowers are young and haven't budded yet.
Flowers that have budded have not bloomed.
Flowers that have bloomed have not wilted.
Flowers that have wilted have not withered.
And some withered flowers have finally dried up.
All of these flowers mentioned above may fall from the tree at any time. This is despite that they are at different stages of their development. Human beings are no different.
Some humans die in the womb.
Some die when they were infants.
Some die when they were children.
Some die as teenagers.
Some die in their middle age.
While others die when they have reached a ripe old age.
For instance, I will die at a ripe old age, just like the flower which drops after it has withered and dried up on the tree. There is no difference. This is the truth of nature. Everything is anatta [non-self, meaning it cannot be controlled]. And the body eventually dies.
If you see a flower falling from the tree. Will you have any grief? [Someone said no.] That's it! It is perfectly in accordance with nature that it has fallen. The human body is exactly the same. The body will also "fall" one day. So you don't have to be sad about it, try to control it, or go against nature.
If there is no one to be born, then there will not be anyone to die.
