Recital of the Ratana Sutta

The recitation of the Ratana Sutta is a powerful blessing for protection and an aid for every meditation leading to Nibbàna. The Buddha, the Lord of Peace, recited this Sutta in the city of Vesàli, India, and as a result, calamities caused by famine, evil spirits and disease vanished completely. Furthermore, hundreds of thousands of critically ill people recovered instantly and 588,000 people, who attained supramundane Paths, Fruitions, and thus Nibbàna, bore witness to this extraordinary event.

The unique power in the recitation of the Ratana
Sutta, based on the boundless power of the Buddha's command, surpasses all arts of magical devices (yantras), spells (mantras) and occultism. The miraculous effects of this recitation diffused even to many solar systems. Hence, today, when calamities of disease and misfortune abound, every Buddhist should arouse friendliness (mettà) and
compassion (karuõà) and recite the Ratana Sutta for the protection and safety of oneself, of others, of one's country and of the whole world.

Ratana  Sutta 三宝经

Yānīdah Bhūtani Samāgatāni

任何在此聚集的众生

Whatever being that are assembled here

Bhummāni Va Yāni Va Antalikkhe

不论是在陆地或在空中

Be they of the earth or sky

Sabbe Va Bhūta Sumanā Bhavantu

愿这一切众生快乐

Let all these creatures be happy

Athopi Sakkacca Suṇantu Bhāsitam

亦专心地听这番话

And also listen closely to these word

Tasmā hi bhutā nisāmetha sabbe

所有众生且专心听着

Therefore all beings pay attention

Mettaṁ karotha mānusiyā pajāya

散发慈悲予人类

Show loving-kindness to humans

Divā ca ratto ca haranti ye baliṁ

那些日夜给你们供养者

Who by day and by night bring offerings

Tasmā hi ne rakkhatha appamattā

因此请好好地保护他们

Therefore protect them well can heedfully

Khayam viragam amatam panitam

灭尽，离欲，无死， 胜妙

The extinction, dispassion, deathless, sublime

Yadajjhaga Sakyamuni samahito

释迦贤哲在定中得证

Such the Sakyan sage is concentration found

Na tena Dhammena samatthi kinci

此法无上

These is none comparable to that Dhamma

Idampi  Dhamme ratanam panitam

佛法中得见此宝

in the Dhamma is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

So by this Truth may there be well being

Yaṁ Buddhaseṭṭo parivaṇṇayī sucim

无上的佛陀赞那清净

The supreme Buddha  that purity

Samādhimānantarikaňňamāhu

那无间定

Call concentration without interruption

Samādhinā tena samo na vijjati

此定无上

No equal is there to such concentration

Idampi  Dhamme ratanaṁ paṇītaṁ

佛法中得见此宝

In the Dhamma is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

So by this truth may there be well being

Ye puggalā aṭṭha sataṁ pasattha

善行者称颂的八辈

Whom the good praise the 8 person

Cattāri etāni yugāni hontu

四双

These 4 pairs

Te dakkhiṇeyyā sugatassa sāvakā

是值得供养的善逝的弟子

Are worth of gifts, disciples pf the Well -gone

Etesu dinnāni majapphalāni

供养将带来大福报

Gifts given yield great fruits

Idampi Saňghe ratanaṁ paṇītaṁ

僧伽中得见此宝

In the Sangha is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

So by this truth may there be well being

Ye suppayuttā manasā daļhena

怀着坚定心修持

Who with strong minds practicing

Nikkāmino Gotama sāsanamhi

依随佛陀的传承的

In the Gotama’s dispensation

Te pattipattā Amanataṁ vigayha

他们达到目标，体证无死

They reach the goal, encountering the deathless

Laddhā Muddha nibbutiṁ bhuňjamānā

他们体验不会失去的安宁

They savour the peace having gained without loss (of any kind)

Idampi Saňghe ratanaṁ paṇītaṁ

僧伽中得见此宝

In the Sangha is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

So by this truth may there be well being

Yathindakhīlo pathavīm sito siyā

恰如深置的强杆

Just as a firm-post deeply planted

Catubbhi vātebhi asampakampiyo

不被四风所动

Unshaken by the four winds

Tathūpamaṁ sappurisam vadāmi

如此乃是卓越的人，我宣告

Just so is the superior man I declare

Yo ariyasaccāni avecca passati

是已见证了四圣谛者

Who having seen the Four Noble Truth

Idampi Saňghe ratanaṁ paṇītaṁ

僧伽中得见此宝

In the Sangha is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

So by this truth may there be well being

Ye ariyasaccani vibhavayanti

那些领悟了圣谛者

Those who comprehend the Noble Truths

Gambhira pannena sudesitani

乃由大智的他所教

Well taught by Him of wisdom deep

Kincapi te honti bhusappamatta

他们虽有疏忽的可能

Although they may be negligent

Na te bhavam atthamamadiyanti

却不会在有第八世

They do not take an eighth existence

Idampi Saňghe ratanaṁ paṇītaṁ

僧伽中得见此宝

In the Sangha is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

So by this truth may there be well being

Sahāvassa dassana sampadāya

随着卓越的洞察力

Together with his excellence in vision

Tayassu dhammā jahitā bhavanti

他舍下三法

He comes to have abandoned three states

Sakkāya diṭṭhi vicikicchitaňca

邪见，疑惑

Wrong views of self, sceptical doubts

Sīlabbataṁ vāpi yadatthi kiňci

对邪道的执着

Clinging to wrong practices

Catūhapāyehi ca vippamutto

因而脱离四苦道

And freed from the four woeful states

Cha cābhithānāni abhabbo kātum

他不会再犯大错

He cannot do the major wrong doings

Idampi Saňghe ratanaṁ paṇītaṁ

僧伽中得见此宝

In the Sangha is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

Kiňcāpi so kammaṁ karoti pāpakaṁ

虽然他乃会造恶业

Though he can still perform evil act

Kāyena vācā uda cetasā vā

于身，口， 意

By body, speech or mind

Abhabbho so tassa paṭicchādāya

他却不会隐瞒

He cannot conceal it

Abhabbatā diṭṭha padass vuttā

对于见道来说这是不可能的

Such is impossible for one who has seen the Path

Idampi Saňghe ratanaṁ paṇītaṁ

僧伽中得见此宝

In the Sangha is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

So by this truth may there be well being

Vanappagumbe yathā phussitagge

恰如一株开满了花的森林树

Just as a fully blossomed woodland tree

Gimhānamāse pathamasmiṁ gimhe

在焰热夏月初升的热流中

In the early heat of the warm summer months

Tathūpamaṁ Dhammavaraṁ adesayi

他的卓越教育是如此CV

Such is the excellent Teachings He taught

Nibbānagāmim paramaṁ hitāya

导向涅槃，至高的目标

Leading to Nibbana, the supreme goal

Idampi Buddhe ratanaṁ paṇītaṁ

佛身上乃见此宝

In the Buddha is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

So by this Truth may there be well being

Varo varaňňu varado varāharo


他是无上优者， 知优者，施优者，予优者

The unrivalled Excellent One, the Knower, the Giver, the Bringer of the Excellent

Anuttaro dhammavaraṁ adesayi

教育了无上佛法

Taught the Incomparable Dhamma

Idampi Buddhe ratanaṁ paṇītaṁ

佛身上乃见此宝

In the Buddha is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

So by this Truth may there be well being

Khīṇam purāṇam navaṁ natthi sambhavaṁ

旧的已耗尽，亦不再有新的

Their past is extinct,

Viratta cittā āyatike bhavasmiṁ

追求未来生命的欲念

A fresh becoming there is not

Nibbanti dhīrā yathā yaṁ padīpo

智者人灭如灯灭

The wise goes out even as this lamp

Idampi Saňghe ratanaṁ paṇītaṁ

僧伽中得见此宝

In the Sangha is this precious jewels

Etena saccena suvatthi hotu

愿此真言带来吉祥

So by this truth may there be well being

Yānīdha bhūtāni samāgatāni

任何在此聚集的众生

Whatever beings there are assembled here

Bhummāni vā yāni va antalikkhe

不论是在陆地或在空中

Whether on earth or in sky

Tathāgataṁ devamanussapūjitam

如来，天神与人类皆尊敬

The Thus-Gone, revered by gods and men

Sanghaṁ namassāma suvatthi hotu

让我们敬礼僧，愿得一片吉祥

Let us salute the Sangha, so may there be well being
